A Butterfly Bush is a must for attracting butterflies into your garden. It comes in a wide variety of colors and usually gets 4 to 6 feet tall. For a more robust plant, do not prune your butterfly bush in the fall. Wait until spring, when you can see new shoots coming up from the ground or near the bottom of the plant. Prune off any dead branches above the new growth. Dead head often throughout the summer for a profusion of blooms.
