Gardening Tip
Darrow blackberries like a light well-drained soil and a good amount of sun. Do not plant them where tomatoes, potatoes, or eggplant have grown, since the site may be infected with verticillium wilt. Plant in early spring, a month before last frost. As soon as new growth begins, prune off any stubs that do not leaf out and destroy to prevent fungus diseases.
